everyone deserves to love and be loved.

^ I'm not completely sure where that's from but I think it's true. This is going to sound so random and someone might even call me out on what I have to say, but I believe homosexuals should have the right to marry. I was just browsing twitter and Perez Hilton was on a tweet rant rampage at what Miss California had said. To quote;

"Well, I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what? In my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be, between a man and a woman. Thank you very much."

I mean, it's nice that she has her own opinion and everything, but clearly that statement was going to offend. And if she were to have won Miss America, she should've realized that as your role as Miss America, you are supposed to symbolize America. America's opinions on topics, not strongly of your own. I don't even know why I brought this up on my goddamned blog but it also reminded me of my church. I also was raised up to believe that same sex marriage was completely wrong and I hear my mother say some things about it sometimes. But, I really do believe that same sex marriage is okay. So? It's not conventional or traditional. But nothing is nowadays. We, as a modern society have adapted to live in our time. We don't wear the same clothes we did 60 years ago, we have different problems than the people before had, so change is inevidable. We should adapt to the populations needs. It's extremely cruel to say, "Oh, you can't marry the person you love because it's morally and politcally wrong." You can't control your feelings for someone. Love is love. Love is blind, but love is love. And people should be given the right to love, under any circumstances.

  1. I think I saw Miley Cyrus post that on her Twitter when Perez asked her what she thought about the situation.
